What Is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout performed on a specially designed machine called a Reformer. It uses springs, pulleys and a sliding carriage to create resistance, helping you move through controlled, precise exercises.

The beauty of the Reformer is that is supports you where you need help and challenges you where you're ready to grow - whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned athlete. It improves strength, flexibility, posture and balance, all while being low-impact and joint friendly.

You choose:

1) How often you'd like to come. Twice a week or more often?

2) How to split your sessions. All Lift sessions? All Reformer Pilates? A mix of both?

One to one support

Whatever you decide, you'll get full support from one of our Head Coaches. They'll set goals with you, hold you accountable, give you things to do away from gym to aid your progress - such as extra movement goals and nutrition support.

The Sessions

Choose from Classic or Dynamic:

Classic - Focuses on slow, precise movements. Prioritises alignment, breathing and core activation. Ideal for rehabilitation, beginners, or those wanting mindful movement.

Dynamic - A modern, faster paced approach. Incorporates more athletic, flowing sequences. Uses higher spring resistance for greater intensity. Perfect for improving strength, stamina and calorie burn.

Your Coach will be there to support you at every step. They'll ensure you're doing things safely and effectively to get the most from the exercises. They'll focus on form and technique, while giving you a great workout.

The power of combining Pilates with strength training

While Reformer Pilates builds deep, stabilising strength and improves mobility, traditional strength training works the big, global muscles - the ones that power you through lifting, running and everyday life.

When combined you get the best of both worlds:

  • Better posture and joint protection from Pilates

  • Greater muscle tone and bone strength from strength training

  • Reduced injury risk by balancing mobility with power

  • Improved performance in sports, workouts and daily activities

That's why at Citypark Fitness we give the option to do both. It's up to you how you train and how you evolve your training over time.

The Community

You'll join our close knit community of likeminded ladies. They'll encourage you and you'll drive each other on just as much as your Coach will! We'll celebrate your achievements together and keep you highly motivated. Strength in numbers!
